How do I get Barb data?

There are several options available to access Barb data. The vast majority of Barb subscribers choose to access Barb data via a data bureau. These companies have created user friendly analytic systems and services. A list of the companies is here. As an independent company to Barb, there is a separate fee payable directly to the chosen bureau.

Barb has an API feed which is free to access for Barb subscribers. You will need software to be able to analyse the data.

There is also top line viewing data available within the subscriber section of the Barb website including the weekly top 50 programmes for all channels and services reported.

How can I use Barb data?

External Purposes:

This academic publishing licence will permit you to use Barb data in your article which will be published in an academic journal, text book or external exam paper. If the article is to be published in other publications, or on third party websites, please contact Sarah Mowbray to discuss the other publishing licences that are available.

Internal Purposes:

Under an End User Licence you may only use the data for internal purposes to your studies or academic work. This can include using the data in Lectures, or as part of a thesis/dissertation or other academic assignment.

What time period does my licence fee cover?
