The information provided will be used to contact you to discuss your fee estimate. It will not be used for any other purpose.
Please take care to answer all questions to the best of your knowledge.
For existing subscribers to Barb, this will provide you with an estimate of the licence fee for each channel or VOD service that you have reported.
Required field
There is a one-off set-up fee per channel or VOD service which is non-refundable. This fee allows the required references to be set up so that we can measure your channel or VOD service on all required platforms.
There are two options available for paying your licence fee.
Option 1: Pay a fee based purely on share of Total Identified Viewing. Total Identified Viewing is all identified viewing which can be measured and reported through all four screens (TV, PC/laptop, tablet and smartphone).
Option 2: Pay a fee based on a combination of share of Total Identified Viewing and share of advertising revenue as a percentage of the Advertising Association’s reporting of total spot (inc. sponsorship) and VOD revenue for television.
There is a tiered licence fee in place based on your share of Total Identified Viewing. For new subscribers who have yet to establish a share, we will start you on the lowest banding tier.
*Based on your revenue for 1st July 2023 - 30th June 2024 (Base period).
*Any data you share on revenue is required to produce an accurate estimate. This information is discarded on submission. Submissions are only completed when you click the ‘Submit’ button for a consultation. You and Barb will receive an email of your completed form, but revenue is removed and is not shared with Barb.
Your advertising revenue includes revenue from sponsorship deals and teleshopping as well general airtime sales. If you had no sales during this period, please enter £0. For +1 channels your advertising revenue will be included with the parent channel, so please add £0 for revenue.
For new services, your initial share of total identified viewing will be 0.00% as you have yet to establish your share. This is the lowest banding tier.
Please add your channel name as known in the Barb data. The Share of Total Identified Viewing for the period 1st July 2023 – 30th June 2024 (known as the base period) will be populated in the box.
If your channel or VOD service launched outside of the base period, please contact Barb direct to obtain your Share of Total Identified Viewing which will be based upon the latest data available.

HD variant reporting options
There are several options available if you have a SD and HD variant:
Option 1: To have the viewing to the HD variant reported with the SD variant. With this option you will not be able to separate out the viewing between the two variants.
Option 2: To have the viewing to the HD channel reported separately in database 1 but the commercial impacts reported together in database 2. This option will require an encoder to be implemented so that the viewing can be separated. This is an additional cost which will be advised in the follow-up call.
Option 3: To have the HD variant reported in its own right. This is the same fees as a reported channel. This option will require an encoder to be implemented so that the viewing can be separated. This is an additional cost which will be advised in the follow-up call.
