Do you represent a channel or service that is reported by Barb?

Barb reports on many of the VOD and streaming services as well as the majority of linear channels.

Step 3 - Core Fees

Main annual licence fee:

What’s your service or channel name?

There are 3 parts to the licence for a TV Sales House.

The main annual licence allows access to Barb data to promote the sales of advertising space. The annual fee is £14,070 and is payable by all licensees.

The second part of the licence is based upon the share of Total Identified Viewing for both linear channels and VOD and video-sharing services which are measured by Barb.  If you are working with a VOD or video-sharing service which is measured by Barb then enter the service name in the box to get the share of Total Identified Viewing.  The period that this is based upon is the 1st July 2023 to 30th June 2024 and is known as the ‘base period’.  You will need to do this for each VOD and video-sharing service you represent.

Do you want to use Barb data as part of the sales process?

There are two parts to this licence if you would like to use Barb data as part of the sales process.

The main annual licence allows access to Barb data to promote the sales of advertising space. The annual fee is £14,070 and is payable by all licensees of the TV Sales House Licence.

The second part of this licence is where you are working with services that are not reported by Barb but you would like to use Barb data as part of the sales process. This fee is based on all the advertising revenue arising during the calendar year from these sales. There is a flat fee for advertising revenue of less than £5m or for advertising revenue over £5m the fee is 0.02% of the advertising revenue.

What is your advertising revenue?

*Any data you share on revenue is required to produce an accurate estimate, this information is discarded on submission. Submissions are only completed when you click the ‘Submit’ button for a consultation. You and Barb will receive an email of your completed form, but revenue is removed and is not shared with Barb.

Please enter all advertising revenue arising from the sales in the calendar year if it above £5m.

Whilst Barb will not receive any details of the advertising revenue you enter so that you can receive an accurate estimate of your licence fee, you will need to share the advertising revenue with Barb should you decide to purchase a licence. Barb will, however, enter into a clean team agreement to ensure the confidentiality of this data.
